step by step

Your journey to Germany

Starting a new chapter in another country can feel overwhelming, but with the right support and a clear structure, it becomes an achievable and empowering path.
Whether you’re a qualified healthcare professional or planning to begin aprrenticeship, your journey to Germany follows a well-defined process.

We believe that clarity creates confidence. That’s why we show you exactly what to expect: from your first interview to your first day on the job and beyond. Every step has a purpose. Even when responsibility shifts to others, you’re never left alone.

Here’s what your journey typically looks like: step by step.

Your journey begins with a personal conversation. We take time to understand your background, your motivation and your goals.
If you meet the basic requirements, including a B1 language certificate in German (telc or Goethe) and a recognized nursing qualification, you’ll be admitted into our placement program.

From this point on, you can continue your German training with the goal of reaching level B2.
You receive guidance on what comes next and can move forward with confidence.

step 1 - get started

personal interview & program admission

Step 2 - Prepare and apply

Preparation & Employer Applications

As you progress in your language course, you also prepare for life and work in Germany.
Training takes place in your home country with qualified instructors and regular progress checks.

Employer placement only begins once your documents are complete, your motivation is clearly focused on reaching B2 and your skills match future work settings.
This ensures a strong fit for you and for your future team.

After you receive a job or training offer, the formal process begins.
This includes the recognition of your professional qualification, the visa application and all the necessary planning for your move to Germany.

Once your visa has been issued and is valid, your arrival is coordinated with your employer and travel arrangements are made.
You’ll be welcomed and introduced to your new workplace by Mediatos. From this point on, your employer takes the lead, but if needed, you can still reach out to us as your point of contact in the background.

Step 3 - get ready

Recognition, visa & relocation

Step 4 - arrive and settle

Starting your new life

Once in Germany, you move into your accommodation and get to know your new surroundings: local shops, public transport and daily life.
Many candidates connect early on with others from similar backgrounds, which makes settling in easier.

Administrative steps like address registration, setting up health insurance or opening a bank account are usually handled in the first few days, with support from your employer.

Now your professional path begins. You start your job or apprenticeship in the healthcare sector.
Your team will guide you through the onboarding process and help you become part of everyday working life.

Whether in nursing, therapy or another medical field, this is where you apply your skills, grow professionally and become part of a team that values your contribution.

step 5 - start working

first steps in your new role

step 6 - grow and qualify

professional recognition & career development

If you arrive as a qualified professional, you’ll complete a recognition course at an accredited training provider, required to gain full professional status in Germany.
If you’re placed near of our partner providers, local support may continue. If not, you can still reach out to us if questions arise.

Once your bridge course is complete and the final exam is passed – congratulations! You’re now officially recognized in Germany.
The qualification is funded through public programs and your employer will release you from work as needed.

If you’re starting an apprenticeship, a new chapter begins: three years of learning, growing and building a long-term future in the German healthcare system.
